The late Robin Williams starred in many great movies, and Mrs Doubtfire is undoubtedly one of them. Brilliantly funny, but also moving, with the story revolving around a messy divorce. Thankfully, the film got the balance right between the laughter and the tears, but it could have been very different had the following scenes made it into the final cut.
The video below shows scenes between Daniel (Williams) and eldest daughter Lydia (including an awkward spelling bee scene), and an argument between Daniel and his wife (played by the excellent Sally Field) towards the end of the movie. It’s all a bit dramatic and depressing, and we’re grateful they saw sense and got rid.
