“FREEDOM!” – Braveheart (1995)
It’s hard to like Mel Gibson, not just as a public figure, but also as an actor. However, that doesn’t change the fact that he does an infallible job with the role of William Wallace in Braveheart. Having tried and failed in his attempt to form a rebellion against the tyrannical English, Wallace is sentenced to death (with some torture for good measure). In the face of immense pain, and with the English coercing him to beg for mercy, Wallace instead uses his dying moments to unleash one last cry for freedom.
