One of 2017?s biggest game releases was Activision?s Call of Duty: WWII. For years the Call of Duty franchise had explored futuristic tech and the evolution of our world?s warfare into the future. While highly entertaining and interesting to see what experts predicted our military might look like in the future, the franchise was built on the historical exploration of eras like World War II, and so the latest game went back to the franchise?s roots and brought a story and multiplayer experience like no other.

Since it?s release, three various DLC, or Downloadable Content, has been released. The first was December 2017?s The Resistance, which included three new multiplayer maps. The second pack came in April 2018 with the release of The War Machine, adding new maps and Zombie gameplay. Most recently in June 2018 the game released a third pack, titled United Front, which included more maps and Zombie game time. These DLC packs have given players hours upon hours of gameplay to choose from, whether it meant exploring new maps or delving deeper and deeper into the growing mythology of the Call of Duty: Zombies universe.

Today it was announced that the fourth and final DLC for the game will be released on August 28th for PlayStation gamers, with the Xbox and PC gamers getting the DLC at a later date. The DLC is titled Shadow War, and it will give Call of Duty: WWII fans three new maps, a new war mode mission and the epic final conclusion to the Zombies storyline. The new maps are Airship (a map in the Alps that features a docked Zeppelin and cliffs that could lead to your doom), Chancellery (a map that takes players to a French courtyard to fight over), and finally Excavation (a map that features an Algerian mine full of gold and treasure hoarded by the Nazis).

The new War Mode mission is set in a map called Arcane, featuring an Axis powered facility in the Austrian Mountains. Allied forces are given the task for infiltrating the facility, stealing documents and artifacts, and destroying a UFO hanger. It also features super solid serums and Tesla Guns. Finally the conclusion to Zombies is called Frozen Dawn, and features the players inside the fabled city of Thule. There they must locate and use powerful secret weapons to destroy an evil cult and fight off zombie hordes.

With all of the buzz surrounding the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, this final bit of DLC should give fans of the Call of Duty: WWII game a satisfying conclusion to the Zombie storyline, and allow players to spend hours facing off against friend and strangers alike as they battle one another for survival in the midst of World War II.
