The British Film Institute has just concluded a season of Australian films entitled Shifting Sands. The season focused on Indigenous films, such as Ivan Sen’s Beneath Clouds and Warwick Thornton’s Samson and Delilah. These films are vital representations of Australia and prove how versatile Australian cinema can be. Unfortunately, many Australian films fall underneath the radar, not only failing to find a screen or an audience overseas, but sometimes within Australia itself.
