Modern gaming controllers have it pretty made: two analogue sticks, a d-pad, four face buttons and four shoulder buttons, and that’s pretty much it. Give or take a nifty new touchscreen or your Share and Menu buttons, the basic blueprint has been seemingly set in stone for a while – the upcoming Steam Machine’s dual trackpad controller being a wonderful exception.
