One of 2018’s most highly anticipated games has to be Red Dead Redemption 2. We here at Screen Robot have been covering the game over the last few months, and today we are thrilled to share the latest development in the game as Rockstar Studios has released a second gameplay trailer, and boy do they have a lot of incredible footage to share. From 1st person shooter gameplay to glorious cinematic views, this game is sure to be jam packed with more old west vibes than ever before in the franchise.
One thing Red Dead Redemption 2 has a lot of is detailed customization. For example, you can really detail the clothes your character Arthur wears. The clothing also affects Arthur depending on weather conditions. If it’s a hot summer’s day and you wear a heavy coat, then Arthur’s stamina will decrease significantly. You can add layers to his clothing, and even tuck in and roll up clothing as you see fit. Your weapons will degrade and jam up over time depending on how much they are used or how long you’ve had them. You can even take a self-portrait with one of your own personal cameras (an early, old west version of a camera of course), and take photos of yourself out in the wild west.
There are also some pretty neat, detailed and unbelievable things you can do as well. You can take in a stage show, watching local theater performances in their entirety. You can dance around, and even lose your hat off your head, forcing the player to physically pick it up off the ground. It will not automatically be back on your head later on. Red Dead Redemption 2 has even taken care of the personal daily routines of Arthur, allowing players to choose whether to bath him, shave and what he eats in any given day. The lengths the developers have gone for this game are unlike anything seen before.
Players also have gameplay mechanics that have never been seen before in the game franchise. In Red Dead Redemption 2, players can whistle at characters to get their attention, and can hold a whistle for so long Arthur runs out of breath. He can also fire warning shots in the air to scare off animals or intimidate people. Hunting supplies will rot and decay if not used soon after they are gathered, and Arthur’s kill cam will change depending on his moral standing in the game. If he is a villain, his endings will be a bit gory, while a heroic Arthur will get a legendary, hero’s ending. This game is going all out to bring the old west to life like never before.
