American content is still very much sought after in this country. You only need a quick scan through your TV guide to see the vast amounts of American imports occupying our screens. It’s been happening for years. Since the current performance dip in British sitcoms (see my previous article on the subject), the demand for US comedy content grows, but many fantastic American comedies over the years have slipped under the radar in Britain.
I’m going to take you through some of the American comedy gems that have struck a chord stateside, but for whatever reason have not emulated the same success in this country. So if you’re tired of seeing endless repeats of The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men, then sink your teeth into these. Here’s my top five:
